11. Why does my Retiree Annual Statement say that I am married with 3 exemptions?
If you have not returned your Form W-4P, this is the default withholding required under federal law. We must withhold taxes from your monthly retirement benefit using this status until you complete and return the Withholding Preference Certificate, Form W-4P.
