33. As a CMERS member contributing to Social Security, would my survivor benefit be offset by Social Security benefits?
Yes. If you die before the age of 62 and your spouse receives a monthly benefit as your annuitant after your death, the benefit will still be reduced by the Social Security offset when you (the member) would have reached 62 years of age.
