Comptroller Sean Scanlon Statement On CSCU System’s New P-Card Policy
(HARTFORD, CT) – Today, Comptroller Sean Scanlon issued the following statement on the new purchasing card (P-Card) policy announced by the Connecticut Board of Regents system:
“Late last year, at the request of Governor Lamont, our office identified ways the Connecticut State Colleges and University system could strengthen the integrity and transparency of their financial systems in the wake of concerning policies and procedures. Today, the Board of Regents approved a new policy for the use of P-Cards to be applied across the entire CSCU system.
This policy includes many of the recommendations proposed in my office’s report, such as standardized spending limits, improvements to recordkeeping, and restoring internal audits and controls. I applaud the Board of Regents, CSCU leadership, and staff who worked together in crafting this. The Office of the State Comptroller stands ready to support the implementation of this plan to restore trust for the taxpayers and, especially, CSCU faculty and students.”
