COMPTROLLER SEAN SCANLON ENCOURAGES SUPPORT OF HEALTHCARE CABINET’S LEGISLATIVE INITIATIVES
(HARTFORD, CT) – Comptroller Sean Scanlon today shared an update on legislative priorities his office is pursuing in support of the Comptroller’s Healthcare Cabinet proposals.
After convening key policymakers, stakeholders, practitioners, and advocates throughout 2023 to discuss healthcare challenges facing various demographic populations across Connecticut, Comptroller Scanlon unveiled the Comptroller’s Healthcare Cabinet Report at the end of January 2024.
“I made it clear when I first brought these subcommittees together that our work would not end after one roundtable or even a series of meetings,” said Comptroller Sean Scanlon. “I implored members to challenges themselves, myself, and our legislators to be bold, and that is exactly what the report does. I look forward to continuing to champion the legislative initiatives of the Cabinet and its members—and to the future implementation of these policies to make healthcare more affordable, equitable, and accessible for Connecticut residents.”
Since the report’s publication, Comptroller Scanlon and Office of the State Comptroller staff have continued to work with Cabinet members, lawmakers, and state agency partners to pursue legislation for many of the recommendations made in the report. Comptroller Scanlon has and will continue to testify in support of these bills, including:
