COMPTROLLER LEMBO SAYS U.S. HOUSE REPUBLICAN'S HEALTH PLAN WILL DENY HEALTH CARE TO MILLIONS AND DEVASTATE CT'S BUDGET

Thursday, May 4, 2017

“The health care plan House Republicans just passed is a gut punch to people all across Connecticut and our country. Millions could lose insurance, people with pre-existing conditions are put at risk, and Americans will pay more for less coverage – all in exchange for big tax breaks to the very wealthy. That’s wrong.

“But that’s not all that’s wrong with this bill. Women’s health care is under assault too – access to essential services for reproductive health, maternal health and child services - because of defunding Planned Parenthood. And this bill would mean cuts in the state’s Medicaid funding, devastating Connecticut’s budget at the worst possible time. This fight isn’t over and I look to the Senate to stop this bill.”
