Comptroller Sean Scanlon Statement On Avelo Airlines’ Largest Expansion In History
(HARTFORD, CT) — Connecticut State Comptroller released the following statement after Avelo Airlines announced the most significant expansion in their history, with the addition of nonstop services from Connecticut to seven new routes that will serve 33 popular nonstop routes from Connecticut.
“I am proud to have led the effort to bring Avelo Airlines to Connecticut in my previous role as Executive Director of Tweed-New Haven Airport and I’m excited to see that their business, which has already created hundreds of jobs and millions of dollars of economic development in our state, is expanding to Bradley Airport. This is great news for Connecticut, and shows what we’ve long known: that this market is growing and that vibrant companies like Avelo are investing in our state’s bright future.”
