(HARTFORD, CT) – Comptroller Sean Scanlon released the following statement on the expiration of Connecticut’s COVID-19 public health emergency declaration:

“Just over three years ago, the onset of COVID-19 brought fear and uncertainty to our world. Under the leadership of Governor Lamont and thanks to tens of thousands of essential workers, the people of Connecticut rose to the challenge of helping one another, and our state became a national leader in our response to the pandemic,” said Comptroller Sean Scanlon. “As the public health emergency declaration ends, I hope the people of Connecticut will join me in mourning those who we lost during this pandemic but also to, once again, thank those on the frontlines—the heroes who worked at the hospitals, delivered our packages, kept our grocery stores open, and so much more—who risked their health to keep our state going. We must never lose sight of the sacrifices our frontline workers made as the public health emergency draws to a close and we move forward together.”
