State Comptroller Sean Scanlon Supports Connecticut Citizens’ Assembly on Property Taxes

Sean Scanlon

HARTFORD, Connecticut — State Comptroller Sean Scanlon has pledged his support for the Connecticut Citizens’ Assembly on Property Taxes, underscoring his commitment to addressing one of Connecticut’s most pressing fiscal challenges. As the state’s fiscal watchdog and a leading voice on the state’s most urgent issues, Comptroller Scanlon will help elevate the Assembly’s work and amplify the voices of participating Connecticut residents.

Drawing on his experience as former chair of the General Assembly’s Finance, Revenue and Bonding Committee, Comptroller Scanlon will urge lawmakers to provide the Assembly’s recommendations with a designated public hearing and bipartisan consideration as Connecticut advances toward meaningful policy reform.

The Connecticut Citizens’ Assembly is a collaborative effort with the Connecticut Conference of Municipalities (CCM), Yale Institute for Social and Policy Studies (Yale ISPS), and UConn Political Science, bringing together partners committed to strengthening democratic problem-solving in the State of Connecticut.
