This is a graph that shows the Major Shifts in Connecticut Total Employment by Industry in 1988 and 1997. Manufacturing had a 14.1 percent share of total employment in 1997, down from an 18.6 percent share in 1988. Finance, Insurance and Real Estate had a 9.5 percent share of total employment in 1997, down from an 11.6 percent share in 1988.
