Please note that a portion of the meeting was conducted in executive session as the focus of the meeting was the medical condition(s) of each Disability Retirement applicant.

 

CALL TO ORDER

  

The Chairperson called meeting to order at 9:03 am. 

 

Dr. Lieders motioned to go into the Executive Session to discuss medical condition(s) related to the applications for Disability Retirement, seconded by Dr. Katsetos at 9:04 am.  Members of the Retirement Services Division and the General Counsel to the Commission were invited to stay during Executive Session.  Dr. Katsetos left the meeting at 11:25 am and returned at 11:28 am.  There was a brief break at 11:43 am until 11:52 am.  Cindy Ceislak left the meeting at 1:11pm. and returned1:12 pm.  

1. Linda Cicarella appeared before the Board at 11:53 am.  She made a statement and then was excused by the Board at 12:01pm.
2. Cassandra and Kenneth Ferguson appeared before the Board at 12:03 pm.  Ms. Ferguson made a statement and then, they were excused by the Board at 12:06 pm.
3. Edward and Julie Flemmig appeared before the Board at 12:07 pm.  Mr. Flemmig made a statement and then, they were excused by the Board at 12:16 pm.
4. Lawrence Iverson appeared before the Board at 12:23 pm.  Mr. Iverson made a statement and then was excused by the Board at 12:27 pm.
5. Sheila Mayo-Brown and Tahnrra Mayo appeared before the Board at 12:28 pm.  Ms. Mayo-Brown  made a statement and then they were excused by the Board at 12:34 pm.
6. George McPhee, on behalf of Joyce McPhee, appeared before the Board at 12:35 pm.  He made a statement and then was excused by the Board at 12:36 pm.
7. Susan Morgan, and Attorneys Russell Zimberlin and Nathan Shafner, appeared before the Board at 12:37 pm.  Ms. Morgan and Attorney Zimberlin made statements, and then, they were excused by the Board at 12:51 pm.
8. Gregg Sedlik and Attorney Russell Zimberlin appeared before the Board at 1:06 pm.  They made statements and then, they were excused by the Board at 1:11 pm.
9. Maria Sous and Attorney Russell Zimberlin appeared before the Board at 1:12 pm.  They made statements and then, they were excused by the Board at 1:16 pm.
10. Linda Walsh and Attorney Russell Zimberlin appeared before the Board at 1:18 pm.  They made statements and then, they were excused by the Board at 1:22 pm.
11. Susan Morgan and Attorney Russell Zimberlin reappeared before the Board at 1:24 pm.  They made additional statements and then, they were excused by the Board at 1:31 pm.
12. Quanica Willis appeared before the Board at 1:43 pm.  She made a statement and then was excused by the Board at 1:53 pm.

   

Dr. Lieders motioned to come out of Executive Session, seconded by Dr. Katsetos at 1:59 p.m.

Dr. Lieders moved, seconded by Dr. Katsetos, to approve Paul Appelle' s entitlement to Service-Connected Retirement.  Motion approved unanimously.

 

BERNADETTE BILODEAU    D- 10958    SERVICE-CONNECTED

Dr. Lieders moved, seconded by Dr. Katsetos, to deny Bernadette Bilodeau' s entitlement to Service-Connected Retirement.  Motion approved unanimously.

 

BRENDA CARNEIRO-WHITE   D- 12347    NON-SERVICE CONNECTED(cont' d) 

Dr. Lieders moved, seconded by Dr. Katsetos, to approve Brenda Carneiro-White' s entitlement to Non-Service Connected Retirement.  Motion approved unanimously.

 

LINDA CICARELLA    MD- 1560    SERVICE-CONNECTED

Dr. Lieders moved, seconded by Dr. Katsetos, to deny Linda Cicarella' s entitlement to Service-Connected Retirement, however the Board would look favorably upon a Non-Service Connected disability. Motion approved unanimously.

Dr. Lieders moved, seconded by Dr. Katsetos, to approve Francesca Cintolo' s entitlement to Service-Connected Retirement.  Motion approved unanimously.

Dr. Lieders moved, seconded by Dr. Katsetos, to approve Frederick Cousins' entitlement to Non-Service Connected Retirement.  Motion approved unanimously.

Dr. Lieders moved, seconded by Dr. Katsetos, to deny Lisa Dennis' entitlement to Service-Connected Retirement.  Motion approved unanimously.

Dr. Lieders moved, seconded by Dr. Katsetos, to approve Roman Dzidzitsky' s entitlement to Non-Service Connected Retirement.  Motion approved unanimously.

Dr. Lieders moved, seconded by Dr. Katsetos, to deny Barbara Eighmie' s entitlement to Service-Connected Retirement, however the Board would look favorably upon Non-Service Connected Retirement.  Motion approved unanimously.
