MEDICAL EXAMINING BOARD
FRIDAY, OCTOBER 5, 2018

A Meeting of the Medical Examining Board was held on Friday, October 5, 2018, at the Office of the State Comptroller, 55 Elm Street, Room 208, Hartford, Connecticut, 06106.

Please note that a portion of the meeting was conducted in executive session as the focus of the meeting was the medical condition(s) of each Disability Retirement applicant.

 

CALL TO ORDER

The Chairperson called meeting to order at 9:03 am.
Amend to Agenda:
To remove Michelle Suggs

 

Dr. Lieders motioned to go into the Executive Session to discuss medical condition(s) related to the applications for Disability Retirement, seconded by Dr. Galvin at 9:04 am.  Members of the Retirement Services Division, and the General Counsel to the Commission were invited to stay during Executive Session.   Faith Murray left the meeting at 10:08 am. and returned at 10:14 am.      

1.  Melissa and Brian Bahre appeared before the Board at 10:16 am.  Ms. Bahre made a statement and then they were excused by the Board at 10:22 am.
2.  Karin Cholewa (Lee) appeared before the Board at 10:24 am.  She made a statement and was excused by the Board at 10:29 am.

 

Dr. Lieders motioned to come out of Executive Session, seconded by Dr. Galvin at 10:38 am.

 

MELISSA BAHRE        D- 12032     CONTINUED ENTITLEMENT 
Dr. Lieders moved, seconded by Dr. Galvin, to continue the disability retirement of Melissa Bahre.  Motion approved unanimously.

 

LUIS CALDERON         D- 11953     CONTINUED ENTITLEMENT
Dr. Lieders moved, seconded by Dr. Galvin, to continue the disability retirement of Luis Calderon.  Motion approved unanimously.

 

JOHANNA CHERNESKY           D- 12153     CONTINUED ENTITLEMENT
Dr. Lieders moved, seconded by Dr. Galvin, to continue the disability retirement of Johanna Chernesky.  Motion approved unanimously.

 

KARIN CHOLEWA (LEE)            D- 12128      CONTINUED ENTITLEMENT

Dr. Lieders moved, seconded by Dr. Galvin, to continue the disability retirement of Karin Cholewa(Lee).  Motion approved unanimously.

Dr. Lieders moved, seconded by Dr. Galvin, to continue the disability retirement of Margaret DaCosta.  Motion approved unanimously.

Dr. Lieders moved, seconded by Dr. Galvin, to continue the disability retirement of Digna Devillegas.  Motion approved unanimously.

Dr. Lieders moved, seconded by Dr. Galvin, to discontinue the disability retirement of Melvenie Duarte(Ellington).  Motion approved unanimously.

Dr. Lieders moved, seconded by Dr. Galvin, to continue the disability retirement of Annie Fleeting-Priest.  Motion approved unanimously.

Dr. Lieders moved, seconded by Dr. Galvin, to continue the disability retirement of Jeffrey Gadbois.  Motion approved unanimously.

Dr. Lieders moved, seconded by Dr. Galvin, to continue the disability retirement of David Hamlett.  Motion approved unanimously.

Dr. Lieders moved, seconded by Dr. Galvin, to continue the disability retirement of Thomas Howard.  Motion approved unanimously.

Dr. Lieders moved, seconded by Dr. Galvin, to table the disability retirement of Angel Mendez.  Motion approved unanimously.

Dr. Lieders moved, seconded by Dr. Galvin, to continue the disability retirement of John Montano.  Motion approved unanimously.

Dr. Lieders moved, seconded by Dr. Galvin, to continue the disability retirement of Stacie Padelli.  Motion approved unanimously.

Dr. Lieders moved, seconded by Dr. Galvin, to continue the disability retirement of Ronald Robinson.  Motion approved unanimously.

Dr. Lieders moved, seconded by Dr. Galvin, to continue the disability retirement of Mark Ryan.  Motion approved unanimously.

Dr. Lieders moved, seconded by Dr. Galvin, to continue the disability retirement of Ellen Tobias.  Motion approved unanimously.
