MEDICAL EXAMINING BOARD
FRIDAY, MAY 10, 2019

A Meeting of the Medical Examining Board was held on Friday, May 10, 2019, at the Office of the State Comptroller, 55 Elm Street, Room 208, Hartford, Connecticut, 06106.

Please note that a portion of the meeting was conducted in executive session as the focus of the meeting was the medical condition(s) of each Disability Retirement applicant. 

CALL TO ORDER 
The Chairperson called meeting to order at 9:06 am. 

Dr. Rudich motioned to go into the Executive Session to discuss medical condition(s) related to the applications for Disability Retirement, seconded by Dr. Galvin at 9:06 am.  Members of the Retirement Services Division, and the General Counsel to the Commission were invited to stay during Executive Session.  There was a brief break at 10:36 am until 10:46 am.   

1. Richard Fogg and Attorney David Morrissey appeared before the Board at 10:57 am.  They made statements and then they were excused by the Board at 11:05 am.
2.  Cecelia Blanco and her husband, Giuseppe Ainzuian appeared before the Board at 11:07 am.  They made statements and then they were excused by the Board at 11:14 am.
3.  Michele Huie, her husband Lloyd Huie, and her sister Ann Clark appeared before the Board at 11:16 am. Ann Clark made a statement and then they were excused by the Board at 11:26 am.
4.  Leah Margentino, her mother Lori Margentino and Attorney Russell Zimberlin appeared before the Board at 11:29 am.  Attorney Zimberlin made a statement and then they were excused by the Board at 11:32 am.
5.  Diane Pierce and her husband Terrance Pierce appeared before the Board at 11:34 am.  She made a statement and then they were excused by the Board at 11:42 am.
6.  Marcus Rivera and Attorney Robert Krzys appeared before the Board at 11:49 am.  They made statements and then they were excused by the Board at 11:50 am.
7.  Attorney Jeffrey Ment appeared, on behalf of Aida Rosado, before the Board at 11:52 am.  They made statements and then they were excused by the Board at 11:53 am. 

Dr. Rudich motioned to come out of Executive Session, seconded by Dr. Blum at 11:54 am. 

Dr. Rudich motioned to go back into the Executive Session to discuss medical condition(s) related to the applications for Disability Retirement, seconded by Dr. Galvin at 11:55 am.  Members of the Retirement Services Division, and the General Counsel to the Commission were invited to stay during Executive Session.

Dr. Rudich motioned to come out of Executive Session, seconded by Dr. Blum at 11:57 am.

Dr. Rudich moved, seconded by Dr. Blum, to discontinue the disability of Heather Fitzgerald.  Motion approved unanimously.
