A Meeting of the Medical Examining Board was held on Friday, June 5, 2015, at the Office of the State Comptroller, 55 Elm Street, Room 208, Hartford, Connecticut, 06106.

PRESENT:

Please note that a portion of the meeting was conducted in executive session as the focus of the meeting was the medical condition(s) of each Disability Retirement applicant.

CALL TO ORDER

The Chairperson called meeting to order at 9:12 am.

Dr. Rudich motioned to go into the Executive Session to discuss medical condition(s) related to the applications for Disability Retirement, seconded by Dr. Lieders at 9:14 am. Members of the Retirement Services Division were allowed to remain.

Dr. Rudich motioned to come out of Executive Session, seconded by Dr. Lieders at 1:29 PM.

AMY BURGOS     D- 11590     NON-SERVICE CONNECTED
Dr. Lieders moved, seconded by Dr. Dargan, to approve Amy Burgos' entitlement to Non-Service Connected Retirement. Motion approved unanimously.

CASANDRA CANCELLIERE     D- 10920     SERVICE-CONNECTED
Dr. Lieders moved, seconded by Dr. Dargan, to deny Casandra Cancelliere's entitlement to Service-Connected Retirement. Motion approved unanimously.

JOHN COLEMAN     D- 11750     SERVICE-CONNECTED
Dr. Lieders moved, seconded by Dr. Dargan, to deny John Coleman's entitlement to Service-Connected Retirement. Motion approved unanimously.

MAUREEN FORD     D- 11678     SERVICE-CONNECTED
Dr. Lieders moved, seconded by Dr. Dargan, to deny Maureen Ford's entitlement to Service-Connected Retirement. Motion approved unanimously.

RALPH HUMMEL     D- 11815     NON-SERVICE CONNECTED
Dr. Lieders moved, seconded by Dr. Rudich, to approve Ralph Hummel's entitlement to Non-Service Connected Retirement. Motion approved by majority decision. Dr. Dargan dissents.

ROBERT HYLAND     D- 11328     NON-SERVICE CONNECTED
Dr. Lieders moved, seconded by Dr. Dargan, to deny Robert Hyland's entitlement to Non-Service Connected Retirement. Motion approved unanimously.

CARRIE JOHNSON     D- 11320     SERVICE-CONNECTED
Dr. Lieders moved, seconded by Dr. Dargan, to deny Carrie Johnson's entitlement to Service-Connected Retirement. Motion approved unanimously.

Dr. Lieders moved, seconded by Dr. Dargan, to approve Richard Kalva's entitlement to Non-Service Connected Retirement. Motion approved unanimously.

Dr. Dargan moved, seconded by Dr. Rudich, to deny Wanda Milledge's entitlement to Non-Service Connected Retirement. Motion approved by majority decision. Dr. Lieders dissents.

Dr. Lieders moved, seconded by Dr. Dargan, to deny Luis Muniz's entitlement to Service-Connected Retirement. Motion approved unanimously.

NANCY PINE     D- 10467     SERVICE-CONNECTED (RECONSIDERATION)
Dr. Lieders moved, seconded by Dr. Dargan, to stand by the Board's previous decision to deny Nancy Pine's entitlement to Service-Connected Retirement. Motion approved unanimously.

ROBIN QUIGLEY     D- 11564     NON-SERVICE CONNECTED (RECONSIDERATION)
Dr. Dargan moved, seconded by Dr. Rudich, to stand by the Board's previous decision to deny Robin Quigley's entitlement to Non-Service Connected Retirement. Motion approved by majority decision. Dr. Lieders dissents.

Dr. Lieders moved, seconded by Dr. Dargan, to deny Jose Reyes' entitlement to Non-Service Connected Retirement. Motion approved unanimously.

LEE STEVENS     D- 6287     SERVICE-CONNECTED (RECONSIDERATION)
Dr. Lieders moved, seconded by Dr. Dargan, to stand by the Board's previous decision to deny Lee Stevens' entitlement to Service-Connected Retirement. Motion approved unanimously.

DEBBIE SULLIVAN     D- 11295     NON-SERVICE CONNECTED (RECONSIDERATION)
Dr. Lieders moved, seconded by Dr. Dargan, to stand by the Board's previous decision to deny Debbie Sullivan's entitlement to Non-Service Connected Retirement. Motion approved unanimously.

ADJOURNMENT:

Dr. Rudich moved, seconded by Dr. Lieders to adjourn the meeting at 1:32 p.m.
