MEDICAL EXAMINING BOARD 
FRIDAY, JULY 26, 2019

A Meeting of the Medical Examining Board was held on Friday, July 26, 2019, at the Office of the State Comptroller, 55 Elm Street, Room 208, Hartford, Connecticut, 06106.

Please note that a portion of the meeting was conducted in executive session as the focus of the meeting was the medical condition(s) of each Disability Retirement applicant. 

CALL TO ORDER 

The Chairperson called meeting to order. Dr. Katsetos motioned to amend agenda, seconded by Dr. Blum at 9:01 am.  Agenda was read. 

Dr. Katsetos motioned to go into the Executive Session to discuss medical condition(s) related to the applications for Disability Retirement, seconded by Dr. Blum at 9:02 am.  Members of the Retirement Services Division and the General Counsel to the Commission were invited to stay during Executive Session.  Dr. Katsetos left the meeting at 11:30 am. and returned at 11:33 am.  There was a brief break at 11:57 am. until 12:04 pm.  Dr. Katsetos left the meeting at 1:27 pm. and returned at 1:32 pm. 

 

1.  Kenya Adams-Martin and Attorney Russell Zimberlin appeared before the Board at 12:06 pm.  They made statements and then they were excused by the Board at 12:10 pm.
2.  Norma Ayala appeared before the Board at 12:11 pm.  She made a statement and then was excused by the Board at 12:13 pm.
3.  Lloyd Barrett appeared before the Board at 12:14 pm.  He made a statement and then was excused by the Board at 12:19 pm.
4.  Bryan Kelly appeared before the Board at 12:22 pm.  He a made statement and then was excused by the Board at 12:30 pm.
5.  Jane Markovitz and Attorney Ralph Wilson appeared before the Board at 12:32 pm.  They made statements and then they were excused by the Board at 12:34 pm.
6.  Carmen Mattey, Judith Rebimbas and Attorney Russell Zimberlin appeared before the Board at 12:35 pm.  Carmen Mattey and Atty. Zimberlin made statements and then they were excused by the Board at 12:43 pm.
7.  Anthony McCrorey and Attorney David Mester appeared before the Board at 12:51 pm.  They made statements and then they were excused by the Board at 1:01 pm.
8.  Wayne Rettburg and Attorney Russell Zimberlin appeared before the Board at 1:09 pm.  They made statements and then they were excused by the Board at 1:14 pm.
9.  Venice Sotomayor and Attorney Amado Vargas appeared before the Board at 1:23 pm.  They made statements and then they were excused by the Board at 1:26 pm.
10. Marcus Thomas appeared before the Board at 1:27 pm.  He made a statement and then was excused by the Board at 1:32 pm.
11.  Mary Ann Townley, Gary Townley and Attorney Russell Zimberlin appeared before the Board at 1:33 pm.  They made statements and then they were excused by the Board at 1:40 pm.
12.  Joan Woodmancy and Keith Woodmancy appeared before the Board at 1:46 pm.  They made statements and then were excused by the Board at 1:48 pm.

Dr. Blum motioned to come out of Executive Session, seconded by Dr. Katsetos at 1:52 pm.
