A Meeting of the Medical Examining Board was held on Friday, January 9, 2015, at the Office of the State Comptroller, 55 Elm Street, Room 208, Hartford, Connecticut, 06106.

PRESENT:

Colin Newman, Assistant Division Director

Please note that a portion of the meeting was conducted in executive session as the focus of the meeting was the medical condition(s) of each Disability Retirement applicant.

CALL TO ORDER

The Chairperson called meeting to order at 9:55 am.

Dr. Katsetos motioned to go into the Executive Session to discuss medical condition(s) related to the applications for Disability Retirement, seconded by Dr. Ghandour at 9:56 am. Members of the Retirement Services Division were allowed to remain.

Dr. Katsetos motioned to come out of Executive Session, seconded by Dr. Ghandour at 12:07 PM.

PAULA BARNETT-GRAVES     D- 11712     SERVICE-CONNECTED
Dr. Lieders moved, seconded by Dr. Ghandour, to approve Paula Barnett-Graves' entitlement to Service-Connected Retirement. Motion approved unanimously.

WANDA BOUCHARD     D- 11697     SERVICE-CONNECTED
Dr. Lieders moved, seconded by Dr. Ghandour, to deny Wanda Bouchard's entitlement to Service-Connected Retirement. Motion approved unanimously.

CHESTER CHAMBERS     MD- 1440     SERVICE-CONNECTED
Dr. Lieders moved, seconded by Dr. Ghandour, to deny Chester Chambers' entitlement to Service-Connected Retirement. Motion approved unanimously.

LASHAWNDA CHAPMAN     D- 11536     NON-SERVICE CONNECTED (RECONSIDERATION)
Dr. Lieders moved, seconded by Dr. Ghandour, to table Lashawnda Chapman's entitlement to Non-Service Connected Retirement. Motion approved unanimously.

DEBRA CIPRIANO     D- 10960     SERVICE-CONNECTED (RECONSIDERATION)
Dr. Lieders moved, seconded by Dr. Ghandour, to stand by the Board's previous decision to deny Debra Cipriano's entitlement to Service-Connected Retirement. Motion approved unanimously.

THELMA CUMMINGS     D- 11323     NON-SERVICE CONNECTED (RECONSIDERATION)
Dr. Lieders moved, seconded by Dr. Ghandour, to approve Thelma Cummings' entitlement to Non-Service Connected Retirement. Motion approved unanimously.

Dr. Lieders moved, seconded by Dr. Ghandour, to deny Iris Gardner's entitlement to Service-Connected Retirement. Motion approved unanimously.

Dr. Lieders moved, seconded by Dr. Ghandour, to approve Ashok Kumar's entitlement to Non-Service Connected Retirement. Motion approved unanimously.
