MEDICAL EXAMINING BOARD

A Meeting of the Medical Examining Board was held on Friday, February 24, 2017, at the Office of the State Comptroller, 55 Elm Street, Room 208, Hartford, Connecticut, 06106.

Please note that a portion of the meeting was conducted in executive session as the focus of the meeting was the medical condition(s) of each Disability Retirement applicant.

CALL TO ORDER

The Chairperson called meeting to order at 9:02 am.

Dr. Lieders motioned to go into the Executive Session to discuss medical condition(s) related to the applications for Disability Retirement, seconded by Dr. Rudich at 9:04 am. Members of the Retirement Services Division and the General Counsel to the Commission were invited to stay during Executive Session.

1. Attorney Benjamin Shapiro appeared and made a statement on behalf of Tyrone Abrahams before the Board at 11:18 a.m. He was excused by the Board at 11:22 a.m.
2. Raymond Berry appeared and made a statement before the Board at 11:24 a.m. He was excused by the Board at 11:32 a.m.
3. Irene Cardarella appeared and made a statement before the Board at 11:35 a.m. She was excused by the Board at 11:37 a.m.
4. Jan Chilinski and his wife, Zofia Chilinski appeared before the Board at 11:38 a.m.

7. Timmy Van Blaricom Sr. and his Attorney Ralph Wilson, Esq. appeared before the Board 11:57 a.m.

Dr. Lieders moved, seconded by Dr. Rudich, to continue the disability retirement of Candace Carboni. Motion approved unanimously.
