FRIDAY, December 1, 2017

A Meeting of the Medical Examining Board was held on Friday, December 1, 2017, at the Office of the State Comptroller, 55 Elm Street, Room 208, Hartford, Connecticut, 06106.

Please note that a portion of the meeting was conducted in executive session as the focus of the meeting was the medical condition(s) of each Disability Retirement applicant.

CALL TO ORDER

The Chairperson called meeting to order at 9:40 am.

Dr. Lieders motioned to go into the Executive Session to discuss medical condition(s) related to the applications for Disability Retirement, seconded by Dr. Pollack at 9:41 am. Members of the Retirement Services Division and the General Counsel to the Commission were invited to stay during Executive Session. There was a brief break from 10:55 am until 10:58 am.

  1. Edward Crane appeared before the Board at 11:01 am. He made a statement before the Board and was excused by the Board at 11:02 a.m.
  2. Lillian Resto appeared before the Board at 11:03 a.m. She made a statement and then was excused by the Board at 11:05 a.m.
  3. George Robinson, his wife, Lora Robinson and Attorney Kevin Coombes appeared before the Board at 11:07 a.m. Mr. Robinson and Attorney Coombes made statements, and then, they were excused by the Board at 11:14 a.m.
  4. Shirley Sears appeared before the Board at 11:16 a.m. She made a statement and was excused by the Board at 11:18 a.m.
  5. David Sochacki, his daughter, Attorney Caitlyn Anderson and Jerry Sable appeared before the Board at 11:19 a.m. Attorney Anderson made a statement and, then they were excused by the Board at 11:22 a.m.
  6. Gloria Thompson and her husband, Willie Thompson appeared before the Board at 11:23 a.m. They made statements and then they were excused by the Board at 11:29 a.m.
  7. James Williams appeared before the Board at 11:30 a.m. He made a statement and was excused by the Board at 11:31 a.m.

Dr. Lieders motioned to come out of Executive Session, seconded by Dr. Pollack at 11:33 am.

Dr. Lieders moved, seconded by Dr. Pollack, to continue the disability retirement of Mohammad Azimi. Motion approved unanimously.

Dr. Lieders moved, seconded by Dr. Pollack, to continue the disability retirement of Mary Baran. Motion approved unanimously.

CLAYTON BROWN     D-11533     CONTINUED ENTITLEMENT
Dr. Lieders moved, seconded by Dr. Pollack, to continue the disability retirement of Clayton Brown. Motion approved unanimously.

JAIME CARILLO     D-11799     CONTINUED ENTITLEMENT
Dr. Lieders moved, seconded by Dr. Pollack, to table the disability retirement of Jaime Carillo. Motion approved unanimously.

MICHAEL CARROLL     D-11611     CONTINUED ENTITLEMENT
Dr. Lieders moved, seconded by Dr. Pollack, to continue the disability retirement of Michael Carroll. Motion approved unanimously.

Dr. Lieders moved, seconded by Dr. Pollack, to continue the disability retirement of Michael Choquette. Motion approved unanimously.

Dr. Lieders moved, seconded by Dr. Pollack, to continue the disability retirement of Edward Crane. Motion approved unanimously.
