The public is invited to attend Friday's dedication of Connecticut's Wall of Honor - a tribute to the 42 Connecticut members of the U.S. Armed Forces who have lost their lives in Iraq and Afghanistan - to be held in the Legislative Office Building (LOB) in Hartford.
The dedication is scheduled for 2 p.m. in the Atrium of the LOB, 300 Capitol
Ave.
The Wall of Honor, including a framed photograph of each service member, will be
in the concourse between the State Capitol and the LOB, where other military
monuments are currently located.
The tribute was conceived by State Comptroller Nancy Wyman and Hartford radio host and former Marine Brad Davis, who will co-chair Friday's dedication. The tribute is being funded by private donations and coordinated by the Office of the State Comptroller.
The dedication ceremony will include remarks by some of the families of Wall of Honor service members. The name of each service member will be read by a U.S. Armed Forces veteran of the appropriate military branch.
The ceremony also will include the Posting of Colors by the Connecticut National Guard, and the singing of The Star Spangled Banner by veterans from American Legion Post 79 in Madison.
Questions about the dedication may be directed to Steve Jensen of the Office of the State Comptroller: 860-702-3308.
