Subject: | Elimination of Internal Revenue Service Form 4782 |
I. PURPOSE: The purpose of this memorandum is to notify affected agencies of the elimination of Internal Revenue Service (IRS) Form 4782, Employee Moving Expense Information.
II. AUTHORITY: The Internal Revenue Service announced the elimination of Form 4782 beginning in 1998 in IRS Publication 521, Moving Expenses.
III. FORM 4782: The form had been used by employers to provide information to employees about moving expense reimbursements. Form 4782 was mentioned in Memoranda 93-35, 91-48a and 91-48b. It is no longer necessary for agencies to have Form 4782 on file.
