TO THE HEADS OF ALL STATE AGENCIES

ATTENTION:	ALL PAYROLL AND PERSONNEL OFFICERS
SUBJECT:	LONGEVITY PAYMENT FOR PAYROLL CHECK DATE OCTOBER 24, 1997

The semi-annual longevity payments for State employees, as defined in Section 5-213 (b) of the Connecticut General Statutes, are to be processed with the payroll check date of October 24, 1997. Central Payroll must receive the longevity payment data by October 14, 1997.

Longevity payments should be completed in accordance with instructions contained in the PAYROLL MANUAL.

The only deductions taken from longevity payments are Federal and State Withholding taxes, Social Security, Retirement and Wage Executions, if applicable.

PAYROLL ENTRIES

ON-LINE Enter the longevity benefit payments on the "Multiple Employee Time Card Entry" screen (382) or the "Single Employee Time Card Entry" screen (381) as shown in cross reference pages cr 19.1, 19.2
