MEMORANDUM NO. 97 - 43

TO THE HEADS OF ALL STATE AGENCIES

1. Purpose: The purpose of this memorandum is to inform agencies that until further notice they are to continue to follow the existing procedures for notice of intent in the application for federal funds, as administered by the Office of Policy and Management, and for the allotment process, pending new procedures for the implementation of Public Act 97-131.

2. Federal, Private and Advance Funds Allotment Process: Public Act 97-131 changes the allotment process for Federal, Private and Advance Funding. Please be advised that until further notice, agencies are instructed to continue to follow the existing procedures for processing Federal, Private and Advance Funds. The required notification procedures have not changed.

   Agencies will be advised of the new procedures required for the implementation of Public Act 97-131. These procedures are expected to be issued by October 1, 1997.
