Meeting Called to Order by Thomas Woodruff
New Business:
Financials and Dashboard - Milliman presented the monthly dashboard report for financials. A discussion took place regarding the cost of drugs and how this correlates to the overall increase in medical trend. Staff reported that we are projecting a significant shortfall in the retiree appropriation for fiscal year 2015 which will need to be monitored closely.
Partnership Update - Staff reported that we recently quoted 5 small groups for November and December 2014 effective dates, and 2 larger groups for a January 2015 effective date. Membership is holding steady at 2600 lives.
Hartford Healthcare - Tom spoke about the tactics used during contract
negotiations to scare members. The possibility of drafting legislative
initiatives to prevent these practices was discussed.
