Subject: | Pay Increases for Executives and Appointed Officials |
I. AUTHORITY
In accordance with Connecticut General Statutes 4-40 and 5-208(a), the Commissioner of the Department of Administrative Services (DAS) with the approval of the Secretary of the Office of Policy and Management and the Governor has authorized pay increases for executive branch executive and confidential employees excluded from collective bargaining.
II. INCREASE IN COMPENSATION FOR EXECUTIVES AND APPOINTED OFFICIALS
Effective June 22, 2007 the base annual salary for specified executive branch executive and confidential employees excluded from collective bargaining is increased by three percent (3%).
Employees authorized to receive this increase are executives assigned to the EX pay plan, Durational Project Managers, Customer Service Program Developers, Executive Assistants, Associate Attorney Generals, Executive Office Administrative Aides, and other executive branch unclassified managers and executives assigned to variable rate (VR) pay schedules.
Statutory employees of the Division of Criminal Justice and gubernatorial appointees in the classes of PUC Chairperson, PUC Vice Chairperson, PUC Commissioner and Consumer Counsel assigned to the management pay schedule will receive the three percent (3%) increase effective June 22, 2007.
The minimum and maximum rates of the salary ranges for the EX pay plan, the Associate Attorney General salary range, and the Customer Service Program Developer salary range are increased by three percent (3%) effective June 22, 2007.
This increase does not apply to unclassified employees of any of the boards of trustees of the constituent units of higher education.
III. LONGEVITY SCHEDULE
The longevity schedule for the EX pay plan is increased by three percent (3%) in accordance with this pay increase.
IV. PAYROLL PROCEDURES
Agencies must calculate the retroactive payment for the pay period beginning June 22, 2007 through August 16, 2007. DAS has issued instructions for how to calculate the pay rate changes. Please refer to the spreadsheets that accompanied Item No. 1229-E. The spreadsheets are formulated to calculate the three percent (3%) COLA increase and the retroactive payment.
