DIVISION DIRECTOR'S ADMINISTRATIVE AND SUBCOMMITTEE REPORTS
At the Actuarial Subcommittee meeting yesterday the RFP Responses for the Employee Benefit Statements were discussed. Several questions require a response from each proposer before a recommendation can be made. In addition, there was a discussion regarding the GASB 67 and 68 related to MERS with the Auditors' of Public Accounts, the Office of Policy and Management - Governmental Unit and with our actuaries. It was determined that the Commission will need an RFP to contract for auditing services related to the work involved for GASB 67 and 68.
The final educational information session regarding GASB 67 and 68 is being presented today at the CT Society of CPA's by John Garrett and Ed Koebel.
The legislative update has been provided with the action on each item of legislation for your review.
Following the close of the May retirement payroll, the Division processed 136 new retirees (117 normal, 9 disabilities, 7 Voluntary Pending and 3 Hybrid). Finalizations for the month of May were 146 normal and 5 disabilities. The total number of the backlog on unfinalized retirement records is approximately 11,884.
We have received a total of 1,103 requests to transfer from the ARP to Hybrid. Of that number 915 were transfers, 175 retirees, 9 waivers, 4 prospective. We received in 31 applications during the month. Of the 915 transfers we have 515 applications waiting to be processed.
