DIVISION DIRECTOR'S ADMINISTRATIVE AND SUBCOMMITTEE REPORTS
Legislation Update - Copies have been distributed of the current legislation
impacting the Retirement Services Division as of yesterday.
Employee Benefit Statements - copies have been distributed of sample statements.
The vendor will be mailing the originals on Friday, February 21st. We are
currently working on a draft RFP, the current contract expires April 30, 2014.
Following the close of the February retirement payroll, the Division processed
187 new retirees (148 normal, 27 disabilities, 7 Voluntary Pending and 5
Hybrid). Finalizations for the month of February were 70 normal and 5
disabilities. The total number of the backlog on unfinalized retirement records
is approximately 11,905.
We have received a total of 1,017 requests to transfer from the ARP to Hybrid.
Of that number 849 were transfers, 155 retirees, 9 waivers, 4 prospective. We
received in 31 applications during the month.
We have a new doctor for the MEB that has been appointed by the Governor Dr.
Drazinic who has experience in psychiatry.
