Minutes of the January 29, 2014 Meeting

The meeting began at approximately 1:10 p.m.

There was only one agenda item which included discussion with representatives of the Attorney General's Office regarding deceased processing of overpayments. The discussion focused on the ability of the Retirement Commission through the Retirement Division to follow up on deceased retirees with outstanding overpayments. The discussion included a procedure to file a claim with the Probate Court through the Attorney General's Office. We also discussed the procedure to request payment from an annuitant to resolve the outstanding overpayment matter.

It was determined that Ms. Brown will work with Attorney's Clifford and Sponzo to draft procedures for deceased overpayment claims for the Subcommittee's review and approval.

The meeting was adjourned at approximately 2:00 p.m.
