The meeting began at 2:40 p.m.

The Subcommittee discussed the following claims that had been administratively denied by the Retirement Services Division. All of the recommendations were unanimous.

Michael Cocco (Retiree) #380260 - Request received from Michael Cocco that he be allowed to change his income payment election following his receipt of his retirement benefit.

Action: Ms. Yelmini moved, seconded by Mr. McLelland to recommend denial of Mr. Cocco's request to change his income payment election following his receipt of his retirement benefit.

Kathryn Miller #386665 - Request received on behalf of Kathryn Miller to transfer her retirement plan membership from Tier II to Tier I, Plan B and pay all mandatory retirement contributions due.

Action: Mr.Casella moved, seconded by Mr. McLelland to recommend approval of Ms. Miller's request to transfer her retirement plan membership from Tier II to Tier I, Plan B. Mr. Coffey and Ms. Yelmini dissented. Tied vote.

John Murphy #372984 - Request received by John Murphy that he granted retirement credit for his employment with WHUS radio station at the University of Connecticut from 1978-2011.

Action: Ms. Yelmini moved, seconded by Mr. Cassella to recommend denial of the request by Mr. Murphy for retirement credit for his employment with WHUS radio station at the University of Connecticut.

Previously Tabled Matters

Rudolph Kamm #416193 - Request received from Rudolph Kamm that he be allowed to purchase his prior military service from August 25, 1969 to August 20, 1973 beyond the October 1, 1985 deadline associated with this type of purchase. This matter was by the Subcommittee at its March 28, 2014 meeting.

Action: Ms. Yelmini moved, seconded by Mr. Coffey to recommend denial of Mr. Kamm's request to purchase retirement credit for his prior military service. Mr. Casella and Mr. McLelland dissented. Tied vote.

Susan Hunter #811799- Request received on behalf of Susan Hunter that the Division perform a recalculation of her disability retirement benefit. This matter was last tabled at the Subcommittee's meeting on June 4, 2014.

Action: Ms. Yelmini moved, seconded by Mr. Coffey to recommend approval of the request made on behalf of Ms. Hunter for a recalculation of her disability retirement benefit.
