The meeting began at 10:53 a.m.
The Subcommittee discussed the following claims that had been administratively denied by the Retirement Services Division (Division). All of the recommendations were unanimous.
Barbara Bellonio #272294 - Request received from Barbara Bellonio that her July 1, 2011 service retirement be changed to a voluntary pending disability retirement following the commencement of the pension payments.
Action: Ms. Yelmini moved, seconded by Mr. Casella to recommend approval of Ms. Bellonio's request to change her service retirement changed to a voluntary pending disability retirement.
Loren Cassertano- MERS - Request received from Loren Cassertano that he receive his MERS retirement benefit based upon his retirement date of May 20, 2012 and not the date of November 5, 2012 when the application was received by the Division.
Action: Ms.Yelmini moved, seconded by Mr. McLellan to recommend denial of Mr. Cassertano's request that his retirement benefit from MERS be made payable effective May 20, 2012.
Vivian Holohan (Retiree) #257818 - Request received from Vivian Holohan that her application for a non-service connected disability retirement be reconsidered following the recent denial by the Medical Examining Board (MEB)
Action: Ms. Yelmini moved, seconded by Mr. Coffey to recommend denial of Ms. Holohan's request to have her denied application for a non-service connected disability retirement be reconsidered.
Joanne Ottman #386237- Joanne Ottman is requesting the use of her 403(b) and 457(b) accounts for the purpose of the cost of transferring her prior ARP service to the SERS Hybrid Plan.
Action: Ms. Yelmini moved, seconded by Mr. Coffey to recommend denial of Ms. Ottman's request to apply funds from her 403(b) and 457(b) towards the cost of transferring her prior ARP service to the SERS Hybrid plan.
Lynda Williams (Retiree) #509009- Request received from Ms. Williams that her type of retirement be changed from a voluntary retirement to a voluntary pending disability retirement.
Action: Ms. Yelmini moved, seconded by Mr. Casella to recommend a conditional approval of Ms. Williams' request to change her type of retirement to a voluntary pending disability retirement.
